I’m catching up on all of the events I didn’t post about from 2019 and 2020 so I can start fresh with 2021! Check back to see what we’ve been up to!
We went to Fresno to compete in October. This was our second time out at Introductory level and as I recall it wasn’t anything to write home about. I think I was mostly just glad we finished on a number and not a letter (no DQ or RF which means you didn’t finish).
There’s some video here:
It’s funny writing this NINE months later to look back and see how tiny the jumps are. I’m almost to the point of believing Beginner Novice jumps are tiny now that I’m schooling Novice. Just emphasizes that each level is a step and when you are ready to move up, you know.
This was also the first time I camped at a horse show, which coincided with the introduction of the new party pavilion at the Fresno County Horse Park. We had a good time, Joe explained how to use my cross country watch, and I may have a bit too much to drink.
I think this was my very first time camping at a show but not the first time camping in the trailer. I should make a whole post about trailer camping. For the show I was a bit late getting a hotel, and they were expensive. So I thought to myself: if someone bet me the amount the hotel would cost I couldn’t camp, I would totally do it. So I bet myself and bought a space heater. Totally worth it, though this may have contributed to more time being spent at the pavilion… Good times!
