Back in December I dragged Firefly and Michelle with me out to Fresno for a cross country clinic with Connie Arthur of Lone Tree Farm. For me it was mostly a confidence-building trip. I mean, I took Bow to our first Dressage Show, Adult Camp, and the Halloween Hunter Pace (I will likely make some sort of post about these events) but taking him somewhere is still a production. And then we have to BEHAVE and jump over things? Whoa.

We were there to get over my anxieties about going to events, to give Bow some experience, and to learn! After reviewing my takeaways were: work on your lower leg, relaxation does not mean being passive, hands low, and Bow has to WAIT! for the jumps, no rushing! We lucked out that our groups rode at different enough times so that we could take pictures of each other. I also wore my GoPro, but I haven’t figured out how I want to share video, so we’re all going to have to wait on that.
